A 24 x 12 Blue Bangor roofing slate, the classic blue-grey natural slate that covers a great many older pitched roofs around the country. The 24 x 12 size is one of the standard formats, which makes it a common call for re-slating whole roofs and for matching in repairs where the existing slates are the same size.
Natural slate is a long-life covering when it is sound and properly fixed. Before ordering, check the size and colour against what is already on the roof so the new slates blend in, and allow a margin for breakages and cutting at hips, valleys and verges.
Fix to the gauge and headlap the pitch calls for, and it will see out the rest of the roof.
